Our publication ethics policy is inspired by the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Therefore, we want to declare that every journal of E-NAMTILA will be constructed upon COPE core practices and clearly announce the protocols and methodologies for authors, editors reviewers and other publishing parties to follow in order to introduce a scientific production fits with the highest ethics standards.
Fighting plagiarism
All our journals carry out a robust handling for allegations throughout publishing procedure. Furthermore, our editors will insure a continuous inspection for plagiarism cases before and after peer review taking into consideration COPE recommendations in each individual case. At the present time, DYSONA journals are using Turnitin plagiarism detection software to reassure the originality of the works submitted for publishing.
Fighting predatory publishing
Deceptive publishing is one of the most dangerous issues that face scientific production nowadays. Its danger comes not only from misleading the scientific community with false and uncontrolled knowledge but also from eliminating the value that a high quality peer review can add to a good research. Our new peer review system will encourage peer reviewers to permit including their names along with accepted article as a form of recognition to their role in publishing procedure and to ensure that all of our content has went through rigorous control before being available for the public.
Contributorship
including the role of each author and his contribution to the research is mandatory with each submission to our journals. These roles should be consisted of one or more assignment of the following:
- Methodology
- Supervising
- Designing and experiment preparing
- Laboratory or field efforts
- Data handling and analyzing
- Result and outcome reasoning
- Manuscript writing and editing
In some cases where two or more authors share an assignment further clarification might be requested. Any other roles that do not qualify its doer to be among authors should only be mentioned in the acknowledgment section.
Conflict of interests
all submitted materials should contain a detailed report of conflict of interests (COIs) for each one of the authors. By accepting our terms and conditions during submission procedure, the authors declare that they understand the term “COIs”, have reported all COIs and to take responsibility for un-declared COIs. On the other hand, It is the journal responsibility to tackle and inspect these conflicts case by case and to make the right decisions in the light of these inspections before and after peer review and to follow up and share information between editors in chief regarding any case after publication or rejection in the light of COPE recommendations. Therefore, including the ICMJE Conflict of Interest form is mandatory along with submissions to any of DYSONA journals. The inclusion of this form serves as a clear declaration of COIs understanding and reporting by the authors.
Complaints office
E-NAMTILA has a separate complaint system for authors and readers. This system will guarantee honesty in the relationship between readers/authors community and our journals and will maintain safe handling for each case of complain.
Fighting scientific fraud
E-NAMTILA publications will not only be a valuable addition to the scientific libraries but have to hold major and important benefit to the community. By following COPE recommendations regarding scientific dishonesty whether during peer review process or even after publishing, we will provide genuine and accurate science.
Archiving and preservation
E-NAMTILA publishing is proudly a participating publisher in CLOCKSS archive. As a CLOCKSS participant, the content of our core journals (DYSONA – Applied Science and DYSONA – Life Science) will be available online if the preserved content is triggered.
E-NAMTILA will carry out all needed actions and prepare the infrastructure needed to publish fair and ethically reliable science. E-NAMTILA believes that publishing ethics is not only publisher, author, editor and reviewer responsibility but also community responsibility by pointing out and reporting the weak structure in scientific production. Therefore, E-NAMTILA will participate in sharing publishing ethics awareness guidelines as provided and recommended by COPE and will always work to clear the blurry ideas about the process of ethical science production.
